Barb Lindquist Olympic Triathlete
This is what we travel with ...

RESULTS

Barb raced from 1996 to 2005 as a professional. Of her 134 career races, she won 33, stood on the podium 86 times, ad had 114 top 10 finishes. Even though she specialized in Olympic distance racing, she wasn't afraid to go outside her comfort zone and try all other distances - sprint, Olympic distance non-drafting and drafting, Half Ironman, Hawaii Ironman, Xterra, and Duathlon.

2005
Knowing that 2005 was going to be her last year of triathlon racing, Barb truly celebrated each race. She focused less on training, trusting that her years of hard work would carry her through. They did, as she finished the year with nine podium finishes, two of them on the top.

2004
2004 Honolulu Race Finish Line Barb started the 2004 season where she left off in 2003 - being ranked #1 in the world longer than any other triathlete, male or female. Lindquist will be hard pressed to improve on the stellar year she had in 2003. However she came one step closer to the pinnacle of sport by qualifying for the USA Triathlon Olympic Team in Honolulu, Hawaii, April 18th. Barb commented, "The Olympics are a dream that I have had for quite sometime. I've had a great career but I still have a couple of things I'd like to achieve before I retire. Representing the USA at the Olympics is one of them." Barb opened the 2004 season in Australia with four podium finishes, including winning the Australian Sprint Championships for the 3rd consecutive year. Her focus on training and qualifying for the US Olympic team took priority over defending her Australian series title as well as limiting the number of races she competed in.

2003

Her dominance in sprint races ITU world cup races, and traditional non-drafting events marked her ability to take on all formats. 2003 began by Barb defending her Australian Accenture Series title, a series no non-Australian has ever won. Early wins in Tasmania and Japan saw her take over the #1 slot on the World Cup circuit in February of 2003. Her winning ways continued in the U.S., winning the major titles in San Francisco, Chicago, Bellingham, and the Lifetime Fitness "Equalizer", a race which pits the men against the women.
